SE Spartan Announcements

Good Morning, Southeast students and staff. It's Monday, October 19th, 2026! I’m _____________.

Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL; they follow classroom and school-wide expectations, allow for learning throughout the building, and can think critically.

And now for a moment of silence to start our day…Thank you.

General Inf0

Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention.

Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS.

From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information.

From the College Room…

Southeast! You are doing a Great job with FAFSA - over 40 Seniors and their family have already completed the FAFSA! Remember completing the FAFSA is the only way to get Federal financial aid for college and trade school.

This week…

Today, Monday - University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) will be in the College Room at 9:40 and in the Commons at lunch.

Also at lunch today - Illinois Department of Human Services will be here to talk about JOBS! Yep, are you interested in working for the State of Illinois - stop by the IDHS table at lunch today in the Commons.

Tuesday, Bradley will be in the College Room at 8:45 - sign the clipboard to receive a pass.

Tuesday evening is the event you have been waiting for - the HBCU and State College Fair is at the Union Baptist Church from 4:00 - 7:00. Are you interested in an Historically Black College/University or a Public university in Illinois? If you are, this is a must do event! See the posters throughout the building or check out the College and Career Canvas calendar for more information.

Thursday and Friday are parent teacher conferences. Jannazzo will be in the Library to assist with any of your post-secondary questions - FAFSA, applications, etc.

On Friday, Alex from ISAC will also be in the Library. We have a couple of presentations that all age groups are welcome to attend.

Sports

Hey Spartans, do you play Madden, 2K, or FC? Do you think you are better than everyone in this school? What about in the entire state? Would you like to travel to tournaments and prove your skills? If we have piqued your interest, get in touch with E-Sports Coach Clinton in room 203

It’s a great week to be a spartan!

- Tuesday, October 20: Girls Swim City at 7:00 PM @ Eisenhower Pool – Theme: Blue and Gold

Come out and support our student athletes!

Remember to check the Southeast Athletics webpage for the full sports calendar.

Awards/Celebrations

Coach Hamilton, our boys basketball coach, and Senator Doris Turner have teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things will be offered from this grant money, but one thing everyone enjoyed last year and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone, headphones, and dress code referrals. There is a little bit of a difference this year, instead of being referral free for the WHOLE year, Coach Hamilton wants students to reflect on their referrals, make necessary changes, and get another chance at a gift card. So each month is a fresh start. How do you know if you win? Watch Friday morning announcements. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements and stay referral free each month!
