From the College Room… TODAY, February 17 - Lincoln Tech will be in the college room at 11:45 - sign the clipboard or email tjannazz@sps186.org to receive a pass. Also Tuesday, Illinois College will be in the College Room at 1:50 - remember to email tjannazz@sps186.org or sign the clipboard to receive a pass. Wednesday - Fire Fighters! Brad from the Explorers Post 300 will be in the Library from 11:00 - 12:00 to talk to you in more detail and help you sign up for fire fighting Explorer programs. Let Jannazzo or Brad know that you are interested. After school on Wednesday - College 101 - All Students are welcome to learn more about college. The event will run from 2:15 - 3:30. Jannazzo will also be available to assist with scholarships. SENIORS - CFLL scholarships- or Community Foundation Scholarships are due March 1. |

ㅡ Sports | There will be a mandatory softball meeting TODAY for any girl interested in playing softball this year, in room 215 directly after school. ㅡ Awards/CelebrationsCoach Hamilton, our boys basketball coach, and Senator Doris Turner have teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things will be offered from this grant money, but one thing everyone enjoyed last year and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone, headphones, and dress code referrals. There is a little bit of a difference this year, instead of being referral free for the WHOLE year, Coach Hamilton wants students to reflect on their referrals, make necessary changes, and get another chance at a gift card. So each month is a fresh start. How do you know if you win? Watch Friday morning announcements. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements and stay referral free each month! |
