Attention students: District 186 is starting the search for a new superintendent, who will begin in July 2026. The Board of Education wants input from students, staff, parents, and the community on what qualities are most important in the district’s next leader. You can share your thoughts through an anonymous online survey, available on the District’s homepage now through Saturday, September 27, at 11:45 p.m. Spartans!—Homecoming is this Saturday from 7-9pm at Southeast High School. If you are bringing a date that does NOT attend Southeast, you MUST fill out a date request form. These can be found in the main office and are due back by THIS WEDNESDAY. Any questions, please see Mrs. Barcik in Room 103. Hopefully everyone is dressed up today to celebrate spirit week!! From the College Room… Reps from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign will be in the college room today at 12:55 during 5th hour. Sign up for a pass or email tjannazz@sps186.org On Thursday, LLCC career expo field trip. Permission slips are already in - you will receive a pass to meet in the main lobby at 9:10. Poetry Club will meet this Friday from 3:30-4pm. Please see Mrs. Collins or Mr. Gleeson with any questions! Show up and show out for our homecoming football game this Friday at 7pm here at Southeast! The theme is Rhyme without Reason. Mesh together two words that rhyme for your own outfit, or rhyme with another person's outfit. Hope to see you all there! |

ㅡ Awards/CelebrationsCoach Hamilton, our boys basketball coach, and Senator Doris Turner have teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things will be offered from this grant money, but one thing everyone enjoyed last year and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone, headphones, and dress code referrals. There is a little bit of a difference this year, instead of being referral free for the WHOLE year, Coach Hamilton wants students to reflect on their referrals, make necessary changes, and get another chance at a gift card. So each month is a fresh start. How do you know if you win? Watch Friday morning announcements. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements and stay referral free each month! |
