ㅡ General Inf0Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention. Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS. From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information. | Students!! I know that the weather is nice out, but please remember to stay in dress code. We still need to come to school with long enough shorts/skirts (mid thigh) and shirts that cover our chest and belly. You will be asked to change if you are not in dress code, and we have limited clothing options available in the student office. Also, reminder cell phones and ear buds are off and away during the school day. Please clean up after yourself during lunch in the cafeteria, commons, and on the courtyard. Please keep your lockers locked, and do not share with your friends. Thursday during both lunch shifts the Community Committee of Civil Engagement will be here to help senior students sign up and vote. From the College Room… New addition for today, Thursday at 9:40…MISSOURI S&T will be at Southeast today in the College room at 9:40. Send tjannazz@sps186.org an email if you would like to attend. Today at lunch Universal Tech Institute and the ARMY will be in the Commons today at lunch. Upcoming… Monday (Sep 21) Blackburn University will be in the College Room at 9:40 - sign the clipboard to receive a pass. Wednesday - The Air Force and Lincoln Land will be in the Commons at lunch. ㅡ Clubs/Opportunities | Do you like trivia? Do you like hanging out with friends? Do you like snacks? If the answer is yes, then the Southeast Scholastic Bowl team is for you! The Southeast Scholastic Bowl team will have its first meeting after school TODAY in Mr. Calderon's room, 219. Key Club will meet on Tuesday, September 22, at 3:25 in room 110. We will have snacks, play games, and discuss great volunteer opportunities! There will also be an optional after-meeting volunteer opportunity 3:45-4:45 in Mrs. Wilkinson’s room. Homecoming is right around the corner--Saturday, September 26. If you are bringing a date from another school, you MUST fill out a date request form. These are now available in the main office, and due back Thursday, September 24th. Any questions, please see Mrs.Barcik in Room 103. Next week, Homecoming tickets will be on sale in the commons. They will be $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Seniors, if you are interested in running for Homecoming court, forms are available in the main office. They are due Monday, September 21st by the end of the day. Get those outfits ready for Homecoming spirit week next week!!! Monday: Pajama Day Tuesday: Black Out the Haters (Black, Hats, Sunglasses) Wednesday: Character/Celebrity Day Thursday: Class Color/Toga Day Seniors: Togas Juniors: Green Sophomores: Blue Freshman: Red Staff: Blue/Gold The Chamber’s RISE Young Professional Program is hosting its annual Professional Clothing Drive on October 9th & 10th at the Salvation Army on Clear Lake. Community members are welcome to donate clothing on the 9th and shop the donations on the 10th. If you are in need of professional clothing, please attend! (run all week then first week of october) Birth to Five is offering a Childcare Clinic for youth interested in learning the rules for babysitting on Monday, October 12, from 1-4 PM. Free to participate, but registration is required. (run all week then 10/8 10/9) Interested in being an EMT or Paramedic, Medics First offers ride-a-longs for students interested in exploring a career as an EMT or Paramedic. They’re able to offer flexible opportunities – anytime between 6 AM & 9 PM for however long the student wants to ride. Students under 18 do need parental consent to participate. See Mrs. Metz in the Guidance office for more information. |

If you are interested in girls basketball there will be workouts TODAY from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Girls Spring Track Sports workout is cancelled, it will resume on Monday, September 21st at 3:30pm. Remember to check the Southeast Athletics webpage for the full sports calendar. |
ㅡ Awards/CelebrationsCoach Hamilton, our boys basketball coach, and Senator Doris Turner have teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things will be offered from this grant money, but one thing everyone enjoyed last year and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone, headphones, and dress code referrals. There is a little bit of a difference this year, instead of being referral free for the WHOLE year, Coach Hamilton wants students to reflect on their referrals, make necessary changes, and get another chance at a gift card. So each month is a fresh start. How do you know if you win? Watch Friday morning announcements. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements and stay referral free each month! |
